Seventh Avenue Church enthusiastically welcomes persons from all
backgrounds and faith traditions to unite with our beloved community.
Many people who have said YES to our community have come from non-Christian backgrounds or no faith-tradition at
all. Recently, we have welcomed persons who have been raised as atheist, Buddhist, Hindu, Mormon, and Muslim as
well as those whose faith was formed within one of the many Christian traditions (i.e.: Roman Catholic, Assembly
of God, Episcopal,
MCC, Lutheran, Methodist, etc.).
Our pastor regularly offers a 2-3 hour conversation on membership with persons interested in making Seventh Avenue
Church their spiritual home. During this informal gathering we look at spiritual life, history and heritage of
Presbyterians and Seventh Avenue's place within it, faith in Christ, worship/liturgy, the sacraments as well as
a host of other topics that always surface.
This conversation is a prerequisite for joining our community, but attending in no way obligates you to join. It
will, however, help you make an informed decision, either way.
People who attend include:
* Those unfamiliar with Christianity and our denomination
* Those who have been members in other Presbyterian
or other Christian churches
* Those seeking a spiritual community
